
The President of the European Council Herman VAN ROMPUY will visit Serbia on 5 July 2010 and meet with the President of Serbia Boris TADIĆ. This is the first official visit of President Van Rompuy to Belgrade since taking office in December 2009.

All IPA 2010 projects will directly benefit Serbia’s economic development, the European integration process and everyday lives of Serbian citizens. The European Union will provide 174 million euros for 28 new projects. Two billion euros have been invested in Serbia so far.

The Council decided on 14 June 2010 to unblock the ratification process of the Stabilisation and Association agreement (SAA) between the EU and Serbia. Recalling in the Council Conclusions that cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) is an essential element of the SAA, Ministers agreed to submit the agreement to their respective parliaments for ratification, as well as to the European Parliament for its approval.
